Helping kids, teenagers and young adults learn, grow and reach their potential

I’m Stacey, an Educational Psychologist with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Honours and Master’s Degrees in Educational Psychology from the University of Johannesburg (UJ). With over 12 years of experience in education and private practice, I work with children aged 4 and up, teenagers aged 13–19, young adults up to 25, and families.

I offer psychological therapy and educational assessments, supporting learning, developmental, emotional, behavioural and life challenges. My services include psycho-educational, cognitive, academic, school-readiness, subject-choice, career-choice and psychometric assessments, as well as accommodation and concession assessments for GDE, IEB, SACAI and Cambridge settings.

I also provide therapy for anxiety, trauma and grief, self-esteem, academic pressure, relationships, life transitions and personal development, using approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy and Narrative Therapy. How We Work Together: FAQs

What can I expect from my first session?

We’ll talk about what brings you or your child to therapy, what you’re experiencing, and what you’d like to work towards. This helps me understand your needs and decide on the best way to support you.

I work with children, teenagers, and young adults, supporting them through emotional, academic, developmental, and life challenges.

A psycho-educational assessment looks at areas such as cognitive ability, learning, and academic functioning. It can help identify strengths, challenges, and the support a learner may need at school.

An assessment may be helpful if your child is struggling academically, experiencing learning difficulties, or if you want a better understanding of their learning profile and support needs.

A subject-choice assessment is designed for Grade 9 learners and helps identify their interests, strengths, and abilities to guide their subject choices for high school.

Career-choice assessments are available for Grade 10 learners and older and help explore interests, abilities, personality, and potential career paths to support informed decisions about the future.

Yes. I offer concessions assessments for learners following IEB, SACAI, Impaq, and Cambridge curricula, as well as GDE concessions assessments.

You can seek support for a range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma and grief, stress and burnout, self-esteem, academic pressure, relationships, life transitions, and personal development.

I use evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Play Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, choosing an approach based on the individual and their needs.

No. Every person is different. I tailor therapy to their age, personality, circumstances, strengths, and goals.

Parent involvement depends on the child’s age, needs, and the nature of the support. Where appropriate, parents are included to help create a supportive environment outside of therapy.

Yes. What is discussed in therapy is treated as confidential within the professional and ethical guidelines that apply to psychological practice. For children and teenagers, confidentiality and its limits will be explained in an age-appropriate way.

If they are struggling emotionally, academically, socially, or with a significant change or challenge, psychological support can help. You don’t need to wait until the problem becomes overwhelming before reaching out.
