What conditions can be treated?

• 247 GP is capable of dealing with almost any GP-based medical condition or medical procedure.
• If the situation of the patient is very urgent, life-threatening or if the patient is seriously ill, we will advise you appropriately on how to contact your local emergency services and assist you in this regard should you require it.

What about my follow-up care?

• We are a full time GP practice, and our doctors practice in accordance with best medical care/practice principles.

How do I pay for the service?

• All accounts and payments of such accounts remain the responsibility of the patient and or main member of the account and or the legal guardian.
• Please note that submission to medical aids will require payment of a Levy, the value of which is medical aid dependant
• Should you not be on Medical aid, or if you do not have funds in your medical savings, you will be asked to settle your account in full at the time of your consultation. We accept cash, credit cards or debit cards. You will be issued with a detailed invoice containing your contact details, medical aid details (if applicable), the treating doctor’s name and practice number, procedure code/s and ICD 10 code/s, therefore allowing you to claim back the full amount, or a proportional amount, from your medical aid (dependant on your medical aid and option).

What are your consulting hours?

247 GP:

• Monday to Friday: 8am to 6pm
• Saturday: 9am to 4 pm
• Sun and public holidays: 10am to 2pm

What are your 2022 consulting fees?

• Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm: R540
• Saturday, 9am to 12pm: R540
• Saturday, 12pm to 4pm: R750
• Sunday and public holidays: R750

Why do I need an appointment?

• Beyond attending to the health and well-being of our patient’s, we also need to ensure their safety, and the safety of our staff. In addition, we aim to deliver an efficient and timeous service, hopefully eliminating lengthy waits.
• For these reasons, we request that you contact our receptionist for an appointment.
• We realise that occasionally medical needs may arise unexpectedly; therefore should an appointment not be available, we will ensure that we do the best that we can to assist you.
• We request that you arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled appointment, whether you are a new or an existing patient. This allows for the completion of any necessary paper work, updating of your details and timeous service delivery.

What happens when I call 247 GP?

• Your call will be answered by a member of staff from 247 GP. You will be asked to provide details pertaining to the patient and a contact telephone number. Thereafter, an appointment will be made.
• 247 GP is a family doctor service capable of dealing with GP-based medical complaints, minor medical procedures and GP-based emergencies.
• If the situation of the patient is very urgent, life-threatening or if the patient is seriously ill, we will advise you appropriately on how to contact your local emergency services and assist you in this regard should you require it.
• You will be asked to arrive 15 minutes prior to your appointment to complete the registration and medical information forms. This is an attempt to ensure that lengthy waits are avoided and that you can be attended to timeously.
• You will also be asked to bring along proof of identification (ID book or Driver’s licence or Passport) and your medical aid card (if applicable). For minors, identification will be required from the legal guardian.

What if I have an emergency and cannot wait?

• If you feel that your illness/injury is of a very serious nature, then immediately call an ambulance service or make your way to your local hospital casualty.

Are the doctors qualified and competent?

• Yes. All doctors working at 247 GP are fully qualified and registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa.

Are your rooms wheelchair and pram friendly?

• Yes, we are both wheelchair and pram friendly.
